Benefits of Membership in The Evergreen Chapter, AITP:

Networking

The world of the Information Technology Professional is changing at such a rapid pace that one of your best assets is knowing others running in the same race. Membership in AITP puts you in contact with your peers and gives you the opportunity to exchange evaluations of vendors, products, and processes.

Many Professionals seek the company of their peers only when they are searching for a new job. In doing so, they miss a lot of valuable information about industry trends and activities which comes in very helpful during the search

The Board of Directors and the Program Committee endeavor to bring you these timely topics in a manner which neither overwhelms the uninitiated nor bores those already implementing the technology or management skills. We attempt to keep the commercialism at a minimum even when the presentation is made by a vendor of the technology, asking that they prove a use for their niche and letting the questions and answer sessions or post-meeting networking sell their company.

Tech Notes

Seven years ago, the Chapter Board of Directors, in an effort to find something new and tangible which could become a "benefit of membership in the Evergreen Chapter" as opposed to any other chapter, tried publishing the quarterly Tips, Tricks, and Ouches guide -- Tech Notes. The experiment was so successful that six months later, they opened the offer to the other chapters in Region 2. After seven years of publication, in 2002, the Board voted to suspend publication of Tech Notes however, back issues are available.
